Shaina D. Holman, D.D.S., Ph.D.
I was raised outside of Philadelphia and moved to NC in high school. My first job was conducting research at Duke University which later became my first publication. I met my now husband in high school after he showed me around the area when I was new.
I attended Duke University and I graduated with distinction with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Anthropology and Anatomy with minors in Biology and Chemistry.
I then moved to Baltimore, MD to attend the University of Maryland School of Dentistry for my Doctorate of Dental Surgery and a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Sciences. After completing school I pursued a 1 year fellowship in Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology and General Dentistry which gave me advanced dental training in surgery, biopsy, root canals and working with medical complex patients.
I am currently a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, NC Dental Society and I am the member-at-large for the Durham Orange County Dental Society.
I am married with two young children and our pit bull, Sage. We enjoy traveling, going to the beach, ice skating and spending time with our family. Since we met in high school our family is now very close!
I am passionate about dentistry and the latest research and technology. I love teaching my patients how to take care of their teeth and making them smile confidently!
